Bernard Elpedes, DO

Bernard Elpedes, DO

Medical Director

Dr. Bernard Elpedes earned his medical degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1995 and completed his residency at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, where he served as chief resident. He is Board Certified in Family Practice and has been with Saddleback Family & Urgent Care for more than 15 years.

Dr. Elpedes finds practicing urgent care fulfilling, as it allows him to immediately fix his patient’s problem. He also enjoys the continuity of caring for his ongoing family medicine patients. Knowing his patients are well helps motivate him.

Dr. Elpedes values the ability to promote prevention of diseases and help his patients find health and balance in their lives. As an osteopathic physician, he is also trained to use musculoskeletal manipulation to enhance the treatment of his patients.

In his free time, Dr. Elpedes enjoys spending his time with his wife and three daughters. He likes movies, music, and basketball.

Gail Silver, MD

Staff Physician

Dr. Gail Silver has worked at Saddleback Family and Urgent Care for more than 25 years. She enjoys urgent care practice and caring for patients with acute injuries and illnesses. She is particularly interested in sports medicine. She has served as the team physician for the AAU/USA National Karate Team, traveling with the team internationally to world championships for several years.

Dr. Silver received a BS and MS in Animal Sciences at UC Davis before making the switch to healthcare. She earned her MD at the Chicago Medical School (now known as Rosalind Franklin University of the Health Sciences). She completed her residency at Long Beach Memorial Family Practice Residency and has been Board Certified in Family Medicine since 1988.

Dr. Silver has four adult children and is an avid Crossfit athlete and trains five to six days per week. She also has a fourth degree black belt in Shotokan karate. She is passionate about food and nutrition and believes in eating seasonally and sustainably. She grows a great deal of her own fruit, vegetables, and herbs, and owns over 400 cookbooks! Dr. Silver also loves to travel and tries to take at least one to two trips out of the U.S. every year.

Jonathan Tsao, MD

Staff Physician

Dr. Jonathan Tsao finds treating acute illnesses and helping people in their time of need very rewarding and views it a privilege to serve his community. He practices Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care, caring for patients at Saddleback Family and Urgent Care in Lake Forest and Mission Viejo since 2017. He has also worked as a Staff Physician in the Emergency Department at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA since 2003.

Dr. Tsao attended A. T. Still University, formally Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Missouri, which is a founding school of Osteopathic Medicine with a holistic approach to medicine. Dr. Tsao completed his Family Practice residency at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, CA in 1998. He is also a Certified Medical Review Officer in Occupational Medicine.

In his free time, Dr. Tsao enjoys going to the gym, running, fishing, camping, playing basketball, cruising, fine dining, and car detailing. He also likes to see movies, and attend concerts and sporting events. His best time is spent with loved ones and coaching his 14 year old son.

Faisal Al Sayyad, M.D.

Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care Physician

Dr. Faisal Al Sayyad graduated with honors as an M.D. from Damascus University. He completed his Residency at Hahnemann University and Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and his fellowship at Texas Heart Institute in Houston, TX. Dr. Al Sayyad worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician in major Philadelphia hospitals for several years before moving to California to be closer to his family. We are lucky to have him on our team!

When not at work, Dr. Al Sayyad enjoys spending time with his wonderful family– his kids and grandkids. He likes to travel and visit new places, meeting different people and experiencing different cultures. He loves animals and the people who love them, and enjoys hiking and water sports. He likes all sports, especially soccer, football and skiing.

Scott Baron, PA

Physician Assistant

Scott has worked as Physician Assistant at Saddleback Family & Urgent Care for the more than 25 years. He focuses on family medicine, urgent care and treating worker’s compensation injuries. He enjoys the variety of encounters that allow him to meet many different people from various cultures.

Scott graduated from the University of Southern California Physician Assistant Program in 1988. He also holds a BS in Health Science from California State Dominguez Hills.

In his free time, Scott trains four days per week in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He also enjoys weight lifting, running, and mountain biking. He likes to hike and spend time at the beach.

Ryan Wingo, PA

Physician Assistant

Ryan enjoys treating patients at Saddleback Family & Urgent Care with a focus on urgent care, family medicine, occupational medicine, and emergency medicine. He finds purpose in improving the lives of others. His mission is to serve the community by providing quality healthcare services and up to date evidence-based education.

Ryan received his Master of Medical Science degree from Nova Southeastern University Jacksonville Physician Assistant Program.

In his free time, Ryan is a bonafide family man. He loves to go on long drives and explore beaches and parks with his family.
